About
This project aims to study the evolution of song syntactic structure, its role in isolating birds, and its role in communicating identity and behavioral context. It will use field recordings of four species of the genus Spelaeornis in Northeast India, computational and mathematical analyses, and captive budgerigars to understand how geographic barriers drive vocal syntax evolution and how it communicates bird identity.
