About
The proposal aims to conserve R. moorcroftianum, a medicinally important herb from this genus, by focusing on the in vitro establishment of an elite chemotype and the development of an effective in vitro regeneration system. This system will act as a prelude for Agrobacterium-mediated transformation studies and be a sustainable conservation measure. The hairy root transformation system can also be used to enhance the production of bio-active phytoconstituents at the bioreactor scale for commercial purposes.
