About
Aflatoxins are a major public health concern, particularly in subsistence farming communities. Biomarkers can help assess aflatoxin B1 exposure through food and serum detection in high-risk populations in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The study aims to develop and validate the HPLC/LCMS MS method for aflatoxin B1 biomarker in serum samples, assess exposure in serum, study its association with stunting in children, liver and kidney functions, and estimate health risks associated with aflatoxin B1 exposure. Commonly consumed foods, blood, and urine samples will be collected from the Hyderabad population.
