Project Overview

This project aims to identify the optimal tumor-toxic target chemistry of plasma-treated liquids (PTL) as anticancer agents. The project will use clinically-relevant liquids and experimental methods to optimize plasma redox chemistry. The PTLs will be tested in vitro for efficacy in treating metastatic ovarian cancer, a common cancer in young women. The molecular basis of anticancer PTL redox effects will be investigated, and the best plasma condition will be investigated for pre-clinical impact. The novel redox-active PTL approach will be tested in mice.
