Researchers are focusing on the hydrodynamic stability of mixed convection flows in vertical ducts filled with porous medium. Porous mediums, such as metal foam, have numerous heat transfer applications due to their large surface area to volume fraction. These materials are relevant in various engineering systems, including electronic industry, heat exchangers, energy absorption, and transportation biofuels.
