About
The study aims to investigate the degradation mechanisms of hydrogen reversible (HER) catalysts in constant and intermittent electrolysis for sustainable energy applications. It also aims to enhance the stability of these catalysts using advanced technology. The study also focuses on optimizing the activity of NiMo alloy or Ni-based binary/ternary alloys for alkaline HER and developing effective protection strategies against oxidation during power interruptions. The goal is to synthesize an efficient anion exchange membrane (AEM) for zero-gap AEMWE devices, considering critical characteristics like ion-exchange capacity, conductivity, stability, water uptake, and swelling. The study also plans to design, scale-up, and integrate a zero-gap AEMWE device with renewable energy sources to evaluate its practical performance using the developed catalysts and AEM. The research on AEMWE for generating green hydrogen fuel is still at a laboratory scale, and more research is needed on the durability and activity of HER catalysts and AEMs to make this system industrially viable.
