National Mathematics Day, celebrated annually on December 22, honors the birth anniversary of mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan. The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of mathematics for humanity's development. BCST has taken several initiatives to motivate and inculcate a positive attitude towards learning mathematics among the younger generation. Activities include inspiring young children with Ramanujan's life history, eradicating phobias against mathematics, making mathematics an attractive career, organizing a talent search test, and organizing technical lectures on mathematics topics. The project will involve students from 38 districts of Bihar, with support from NCSTC, DST, GOI, and DST, GOB. The event will include popularization of mathematics, organizing the talent search test, building student confidence, highlighting career opportunities, maintaining classroom culture, and fostering logical thinking.
