The project aims to document the literature and indigenous knowledge of the Konda Reddy Tribe, establish a Tribal Hub, develop a portal and app integrated with tribal tourism, design interventions for handicrafts, and develop a pre-fabricated steel house with bamboo, solar lantern, and bio toilet. The Konda Reddy Tribe live in the deep valleys and forests of lower Godavari basin, with a population of around 1,016 as per the 2011 census. They follow an ancient pattern of life, relying on forest products for livelihood and preserving the environment. The tribe is known for their eco-friendly practices, such as using bamboo for household items and cultivating crops in a distinct way called quotPoduquot. The project also aims to address the problems faced by the Konda Reddy Tribe, such as low literacy rates, high maternal and infant mortality rates, high prevalence of consanguineous marriage, high malnutrition rates, poor drinking water quality, lack of income sources, unelectrified houses, and lack of proper latrine facilities.
