About
The study aims to develop a therapeutic modality for erosive oral lichen planus (OLP) using plant-extracts like guava, pomegranate, and okra. The extracts will be formulated into rapidly disintegrating patches (RDPs) using okra mucilage's mucoadhesive properties and excipients' super-disintegrating properties. The formulation will be tested for safety, non-irritancy, and efficacy in cell and tissue cultures from ATCC and biopsied samples from patients with OLP. The RDPs will be convenient, safer, and effective in reducing side-effects of conventional steroidal treatments for chronic management of OLP.
