Project Overview

The smart grid is a modern, complex environment with features such as self-healing, automation interaction, optimization, compatibility, and renewable energy integration. Self-healing is the most significant feature, providing the fastest return on investment. It involves continuous self-assessment of grid operation, rapid detection, diagnosis, and timely isolation of faults without human intervention. This feature requires communication and information technologies, requiring proper data communication between nodes. Self-healing automation systems typically need to reconfigure within a short period, offering multi-flexible control features. However, implementing self-healing control systems in the smart grid is a persistent challenge. A single centralized algorithm for adaptive and online self-healing features is not yet proposed, serving as the core component of this research proposal.
