Project Overview
Native Naturals has developed a pillow made from Bombax ceiba seed floss, a traditional material used by well-to-do Indian families. The pillow is considered a cruelty-free, vegan, and free from harmful materials like heavy metals, ozone, and formaldehyde. The silk cotton fiber is moisture repellent, malleable, and lightweight, providing a comfortable resting place for the head during rejuvenating sleep. The pillow is considered a luxury and has been used by Maharajas and Nawabs in ancient India. The project aims to develop an eco-friendly and economic treatment/coating process for native natural fibers like silk cotton and muga silk for antimicrobial, wrinkle/lump resistance, and anti-static finishing. The main objective is to revive traditional wellness knowledge and apply modern science to value addition in small and medium-scale industries and start-ups. The industrial associate, Mr. Dalel Singh, has shown interest in adopting the technology for immediate manufacturing of high export market demand under M/s Native Naturals, New Delhi.
