About
The wearable sensors market is expected to reach a global value of USD 11.07 Billion by 2025, with the Indian government recognizing its relevance in the current Indian and global context. This research proposal aims to investigate the synthesis of electroactive polymers/composites and develop cutting-edge technologies to fabricate ultrathin wearable sensors for biomedical/energy harvesting applications. The proposed sensors are expected to be flexible, sensitive, biocompatible, and easy to manufacture. The key research objectives include synthesizing and characterization of electroactive polymer composite based ink compatible with Direct Ink Writing DIW micro-3D-printing technology for fabrication of mesoporous thin-film wearable sensors, optimizing DIW process parameters to achieve desired mechanical and piezoelectric performance, and studying the effect of self-healing organic agents on the performance and life cycle of electroactive polymer composite thin-film sensors. The proposed target specifications performance standards include the composition of electroactive polymer based nanocomposite suited for DIW, optimization of process parameters, and the influence of an organic self-healing agent on the life and performance of a PVDF-based electroactive polymer nanocomposite.
