About
The Nb-10Hf-1Ti alloy, often referred as C103, is mostly used in the divergent portions of the nozzles of upper stage liquid engines as well as the satellite thrusters used in Attitude Orbiter Control Systems (AOCS). The objective of this project is to understand the formability of this alloy and to apply tailor welded blanks (TWBs) technology using small size C103 alloy thin sheets in order to reduce the cost of the component. In this research work, a rigorous formability study on monolithic and welded C103 sheets material has been taken up through several laboratory experiments such as deep drawing, limiting dome height and SPIF process.
