About
Garnet is present as porphyroblasts and comprises of inclusions of quartz, ilmenite, staurolite, muscovite and fibrolite. In some samples, garnet shows well defined core-rim relationship, differentiated texturally by different set of inclusion patterns. Overgrowth texture is seen in some grains, where rim is inclusion free (that may correspond to reactions during garnet growth or the
change in the rate of garnet grain related to incorporation of quartz from pressure shadow). Reaction rim can be noticed around some garnet grains comprises of fibrolite, biotite and staurolite.
Staurolite is one of the main mineral present in the matrix of the rock and aligned with main foliation with micas and also occur as an inclusion in garnet
