About

The Aravalli Craton (AC) in Precambrian Indian shield is a significant Archean nucleus that has undergone complex crustal evolutionary processes, including deformation, metamorphism, and granitic magmatism. The Berach granitoid (BG) is an integral part of the AC, intruding the basement Banded Gneissic Complex. The BG formed at around 2585, 2610, and 2440 Ma. The origin and evolution of BG remain a mystery, with no clear contribution from crust and mantle. To answer these questions, researchers are exploring the presence of enclaves in granitoids, particularly microgranular or microgranitoid enclaves, which can help address petrogenetic issues and shed light on magma chamber processes and dynamics. Field petrography, mineral and whole rock elemental geochemistry, and isotope analyses are proposed to better understand the petrogenetic and geodynamic models of enclaves and host granitoids of the Berach Batholith.
