About
Rock blasting is an essential prerequisite for the mineral extraction process, which is known to contribute significantly on huge amount of dust emission to the environment. Dust generated from this activity poses serious environmental problems in and around the mining area. Thus, suppression of the dust emitted during the blasting operation is a vital and challenging area of research. For sustainable green mining operations, there is an urgent need of an easy cost effective technology to suppress the dust generated during blasting operation to protect our environment. Herein, we are proposing to develop chemical compositions which will significantly suppress the dust generated during blasting operations. We propose to formulate the chemical compositions in such a way which will accomplish the above mentioned objectives. Thus, we propose to develop new chemical compositions for suppression of the dust generated during blasting operation. Further, we propose to conduct numbers of experimental blast with the developed compositions to finalize a methodology for suppression of dust without compromising with the rock fragmentation output.
