About
Diabetes wounds can cause severe damage to the epidermis and dermis layer, making it difficult to repair. Traditional wound dressing methods, such as dressing and debridement, do not provide enough clinical treatments for diabetic wound healing. To address this, wound dressing materials should mimic native skin and have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammation, mechanical, and tissue adhesive properties for rapid healing and recovery. A miltilayer functionalized wound dressing made of natural polymers, such as silk fibroin, can be designed to ensure complete skin regeneration with physical barrier properties, wound exudate absorption, and proper adhesion between dressing and skin. This dressing incorporates bioactive factors, such as collagen, gelatine, anti-inflammatory agents, and angiogenic growth factor, to improve wound healing and reconstruct skin tissue functions.
