Project Overview

The proposal aims to develop a rapid and cost-effective method for detecting NDMA impurity in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and drug products. Nitrosamines are carcinogenic impurities found in many drug products, posing a serious threat to human health. The proposed method uses an aptamer-based electrosensor, which can detect NDMA impurity rapidly, eliminating the need for complex analytical methods. The electrosensor will be developed using capture sELEX technique, involving target-induced selection, enrichment, and isolation of DNA aptamers. The expected outcome is the development of an aptamer-based electrosensor for NDMA detection in APIs and pharmaceutical drug products.
