About
The increasing demand for energy has led to the development of efficient energy storage technologies, such as lithium sulphur (Li-s) batteries. These batteries have a high theoretical specific capacity of 1675 mAhg-1 and are environmentally friendly. However, polysulfide shuttling can shorten the battery's life cycle. Various approaches have been used to develop efficient separators, such as functionalizing polyolefin separators or using polymer or ceramic separators. Graphene can improve the cycling performance of Li-s batteries by limiting polysulfide shuttling. Graphene when combined with polymer can improve battery performance. Experiments will be conducted to evaluate the performance of the polymer or graphene separator for Li-s batteries. The research focuses on developing stable membrane separators for Li-s batteries, with graphene's exceptional thermal conductivity and mechanical strength potentially enhancing battery safety and suppressing the shuttle effect.
