About

The growing environmental and economic constraints have led to the search for alternative energy harvesting technologies, such as Triboelectric Energy. Triboelectric Energy is generated through the combination of electrostatic and friction effects, resulting in contact separation and electrification. Triboelectric Nanogenerator (TENG) can convert this synergism into power, converting irregular, distributed, and wasted mechanical energy into electric power. TENGs can be regenerated under various conditions and have advantages such as high efficiency, easy working mechanisms, greater choice of materials, low frequency effectiveness, complementing electromagnetic generators, and large instantaneous voltage output. However, there are limitations to their implementation, such as short life, high internal impedance, heat generation, lack of standardized comparison methods, and storage issues. An efficient approach to reducing internal impedance is proposed by engineering schottky junctions through hybridizing nano-sized materials as fillers to polymer-based negative triboelectric layers.
