About
The limited stocks of fossil fuels and pollution concerns have led to a focus on renewable energy resources, particularly solar energy. solar cells convert solar energy into electrical energy, catering to society's needs in the current era of technology. since the invention of the photovoltaic effect in 1839 and the first silicon-based solar cell device in 1954, efforts have been made to develop cost-effective, efficient, and stable solar cell devices. silicon-based solar cells dominate the market, while thin film-based solar cells have reduced costs. Perovskite solar cells have a power conversion efficiency of about 26%, but stability issues remain. Metal organic frameworks, porous and crystalline hybrid materials, are attractive due to their high surface area, tunable porosities, modifiable morphologies, high-quality crystalline product, and layer-by-layer design. The proposed project aims to develop metal organic framework-based thin film solar cell devices, transparent photovoltaic and tandem devices, and achieve significant outcomes if the sERB grants a chance.
