The State Knowledge Centre for Climate Change (SKCCC) aims to serve as a knowledge hub for climate change information, addressing the needs of communities, policymakers, academicians, researchers, and practitioners. Its main objectives include identifying drivers of vulnerability, prioritizing adaptation plans, facilitating the implementation of the State Action Plan for Climate Change (SAPCC), acting as a think tank, raising community awareness, building state officials' capacities, supporting evidence-based research, and monitoring international and national issue discourse. The SKCCC will also lead on climate change awareness through developing communication tools and materials for stakeholders. The project will inform decision-making in Uttar Pradesh across all line departments, ensuring climate-resilient plans and implementation outcomes. The Department of Environment is engaged in interventions to improve knowledge management, information sharing, and capacity building through various platforms.
