Project Overview
Human activities are causing climate change, which poses a significant threat to sustainable development. Extreme events like floods, heat waves, droughts, and wind storms have direct and indirect impacts on various sectors, including water, agriculture, forestry, biodiversity, coastal ecosystems, and health. Understanding these impacts is crucial for implementing comprehensive climate actions. The Tamil Nadu State Climate Change Cell (TNSCCC) was established in 2016 to achieve the National Mission on Strategic Knowledge Management. The TNSCCC-phase II aims to assess climate change vulnerability at a cadastral level, preferably at the block level, to plan and implement climate resilient development activities. The CSIDSS tool will be developed to provide climate change information services and facilitate decision-making. The CSIDSS Phase II aims to unite all existing knowledge institutions engaged in climate action under one umbrella.
