About
The project aims to develop a modular membrane-based separation process for drugs and antibiotics from wastewater, addressing the growing challenge of fresh water supply and the emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria and viruses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project aims to eliminate and destroy antibiotics and drugs, preventing their entry into the human body. The BRICS partners will focus on various complementary approaches to address high-risk wastewater treatment in each country, including contaminated groundwater, municipal water, pharmaceutical, food production, fishing, and animal husbandry. The Russia team will fabricate nanofiltration membranes for the first time to isolate antibiotics from wastewater.
