About
Solar flares demonstrates the most energetic physical processes in the solar atmosphere with associated space weather phenomenon. The project focuses on understanding the physics of solar flares and forecast them in a reasonable time to provide space weather warnings. This project is aimed at utilizing the high cadence, full disk observations of the chromosphere that will be made available from the Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) onboard the Aditya-L1 mission of ISRO. The project will complement the efforts for forecasting of flares based on imaging data taken from ground based telescope and SUIT Instruments and will be useful for space weather studies and prediction.
Achievements
The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.
