Project Overview
Time-Temperature-Transformation (TTT) diagrams and Continuous-Cooling-Transformation (CCT) diagrams are used to determine the nature of phase transformations in a material with temperature and time. They provide the temperature and time required for the start or finish of a transformation, effect of cooling and heating rates on the size and volume of precipitatesand indications on the microstructure and properties of the transformed products. There exists a dire need for this type of data for non-standard superalloys used in semicryo applications. The projects aims to generate TTT and CCT diagrams for 3 nickel based superalloys (XH67, XH55, XH43) for application in liquid engines
