About
Electro Optic Traveling wave modulators are used for high data rate optical communication. These are facricated over variety of substrates like LiNbO3, GaAs depeding on applications. Mach-Zender modulators are most promising solutions for high data rate optical communication with better extinction ratio as compared to other categories of modulators. The project aims to develop a modulator with low Vpi (< 5V @ 20GHz) for efficient design of a system.
Achievements
The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.
