About
The project focuses on understanding the origin and evolution of solar jets using imaging and spectroscopic data from AIA/SDO and IRIS respectively together with coronal magnetic field modeling and study the association of jets with weak flares using the X-ray data with XSM onboard Chandrayaan-2. Also, the studies include solar jets over different spatial and temporal scales in solar cycle 24 and 25 using data from AIA/SDO, MAST and Udaipur-CALLISTO and size distribution and associated energy distribution of solar jets. The project will aim to explore how solar jets load mass in open magnetic fields and sustain plumes and solar wind.study the association of jets with magnetic switchbacks seen in the PSP data.
Achievements
The project being undertaken by ISRO in collaboration with academia is directly or indirectly beneficial to the society.
