Project Overview

The project aims to promote science education among SC/ST and rural area students in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh through outreach activities. The main objective is to create scientific attraction among students participating in the program by displaying science-related materials prepared by students, finding talented minds, and developing habits of proper sanitization, hygiene, water conservation, and pollution control. The proposed outreach program will include various scientific activities, street plays, songs, and folk songs related to popularizing science technology. Experts will perform science communication activities on themes such as health, water, environment, climate change, biodiversity, appropriate technology, superstitions, scientific thinking and literacy, and carrier. During the outreach program, experts will interact with students and local people in an interesting way, spreading information about science technology relevant to their day-to-day lives. Senior students will showcase projects or charts or models and explain the science behind common happenings to junior students. To give these children a real essence of science and encourage ST-related awareness among rural students, the project proposes organizing two days of outreach activities for rural students in Mau and Ballia districts. The program will help to spread scientific awareness among students and provide them with hands-on activities, learning by doing, model preparation, short stories, short movies, visual learning lectures, interaction sessions, and outdoor activities. The target groups for the outreach activities are 10 school students in Mau and Ballia districts, with a preference for SC/ST and OBC students. The program will significantly enrich the social and personal development of rural students and strengthen their scientific base. The two-day outreach activity program includes expert interaction, model explanations, laboratory equipment usage, science games, science exhibitions, field visits, hands-on activities, interactive lectures, brainstorming sessions, and video/audio presentations. It aims to generate interest in science and technology, enhance quality of life, and develop scientific temper. The program includes interactive lectures, hands-on activities, and interactive lectures, fostering a scientific mindset among students.
