The project aims to organize a science exhibition in the rural area of South Delhi, India, to inculcate a scientific temper, train students through science exhibitions, develop analytical, creative, and scientific thinking attitudes, cultivate curiosity and critical thinking, and raise awareness about government schemes for students. The project will involve science exhibitions, lectures, experiments, demonstrations, quizzes, poster competitions, and hand-on training competitions. The project will be conducted in English and Hindi, with a total cost of 3123750/- recurring cost and non-recurring capital cost. South Delhi, an administrative district of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, is divided into three subdivisions and has a population of 2,731,929 according to the 2011 census. A survey in government schools revealed that students of class 6 and above are interested in science and want to interact with science experts. They also want to learn basic experimentation of science and are not aware of all-government schemes. The workshop will be designed to fulfill these expectations through science demonstrations, experiments, and hands-on training competitions. Approximately 1500 rural students of 6th to 12th class from schools in the Rural Area of South Delhi districts will be selected for science learning and training. Each student will serve their knowledge to at least 10 students, with a total of 1500 direct beneficiaries and 15,000 indirect beneficiaries.
