About
This project aims to estimate the parameter and parametric function of location-scale families of distributions under the general pitman measure of closeness. It proposes Stein-type and Brown-type estimators, which are closer than usual estimators. A simulation study will compare these estimators, and real-life data analysis will be provided. The project will address problems such as estimating the ratio of generalized variance of two matrix normal distributions, estimating scale parameters and functions of location and scale parameters of two-parameter exponential distributions, estimating common variance, precision, and quantile of two normal populations with ordered location parameters, and estimating entropy of a multivariate normal distribution and scale mixture.
