Project Overview
The project aims to create a slow light device using metamaterials for applications in terahertz communications and microwave photonics. By designing novel metamaterials, the group velocity of an electromagnetic wave can be controlled. The project will use metasurfaces with electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) effects, a quantum interference effect that allows light pulse propagation through opaque mediums. The goal is to design slow light devices with broadband transparency window, enhancing the delay bandwidth product (DBP), which determines the data transmission capacity of a communication network.
