Project Overview

The proposed research project describes our working hypothesis and initial results towards the development of enyne metathesis type novel cycloisomerization chemistry using inexpensive metal triflate as a catalyst which will deliver highly functionalized heterocycles, polycyclic (hetero)aromatic compounds in step- and atom-economic manner. Our work also demonstrated a new avenue for the stereoselective synthesis of all carbon containing tetrasubstituted olefins. Our proposal shows the initial results of a novel domino intramolecular enyne metathesis-dipolar cycloaddition reaction which generates functionalized heterocyclic compounds. Development of a cascade 1,5-hydride transfer annulation-enyne metathesis reaction has also been included in the proposal.
