Project Overview

Fluoroalkyl groups are rapidly increasing due to the fluorine atom's unique features. The proposed project aims to incorporate trifluoromethoxy groups into organic molecules' strategic positions in cascade radical cyclization pathways, resulting in complex fluoro synthons like furans, pyrroles, coumamarines, and quinolones. The project will investigate reported radical trifluoromethoxy reagents and new sulphonamide-based trifluoromethoxy reagents. The concept will be used for late-stage trifluoromethoxy functionalization of natural products, with compounds screened for biological activity to identify potential drug candidates.
