Project Overview

In this proposal, analysis, design and fabrication of a high performance interaction structure for dual-band Gyro-TWT amplifier that applies the technique of employing a periodic dielectric loaded interaction structure to achieve stability and broad bandwidth will be carried out. The PIC simulation will be carried out for maximum output power, gain and bandwidth for Ka & Q-band Gyro-TWT. The major tasks are as follows: (i) Design and analysis of interaction structure and input & output coupler for dual band Ka-band & Q-band Gyro-TWT. (ii) Fabrication and characterization of the interaction structure and coupling system for dual band Ka-band & Q-band Gyro-TWT. As there is a large scope for proposing new type of RF interaction structures with improved performance for Gyro-TWT to enhance their performance capabilities, it is also proposed to carry out research work on these interaction structures by modeling & simulation, fabrication and characterizations.
