The proposed study at development of an emission inventory study proposes the development of an emission inventory, its validation using appropriate dispersion models, and exposure assessment of the air pollutants in Kanpur City, Uttar Pradesh using the ‘Risk of Mortality and Morbidity due to Air Pollution’ AirQ+ model. Presently, the database regarding the emission inventory for vehicular pollutants in the city is limited. Further, very few health exposure assessment studies have been carried out in Kanpur City. The proposed emission inventory intends to cover sources of vehicular emissions of these pollutants. Further, it is proposed to utilize the Gaussian Emission model which is often used for regulatory purposes be utilized for the prediction of pollutant concentrations and to validate the proposed emission inventory. The AirQ+ model will be used to evaluate the health effects due to the different air pollutants.
