About
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have potential to treat various diseases through various mechanisms. Live MSCs secrete bioactive molecules, while dead MSCs undergo apoptosis in tissue. Phagocytic cells remove dead MSCs through efferocytosis, leading to metabolic and inflammatory changes. This proposal aims to test the therapeutic efficacy of live and dead canine MSCs in mitigating acute liver injury in mice. The data will provide insights into the therapeutic action of dead MSCs and reduce the gap between donor and recipient animals. The study's findings will have broad implications for cell-based therapies in veterinary and animal sciences.
