About

Energy is crucial for human progress, and as natural resources diminish, researchers are exploring clean energy sources like solar, wind, and tidal waves. One clean energy source is thermoelectricity, which generates electrical energy from waste heat. Combining thermoelectricity with magnetism, known as spin caloritronics, can be studied through the Anomalous Nernst Effect (ANE) in magnetic materials. This project focuses on ferromagnetic Heusler alloys, exploring electronic, magnetic, and spintronic properties through first principles calculations. The focus is on large Berry curvature systems in Heusler alloys, resulting in high intrinsic Anomalous (Hall, Nernst) conductivities. The study of topological properties, such as Nodal lines and Weyl points, is used to analyze the larger effects. The aim is to find large ANC values that can be useful for practical ANE-based thermoelectric generators for future energy harvesting technologies.
