The present disclosure relates to nucleotide sequence selected from a group comprising sequence set forth as SEQ ID No. 1 and SEQ ID No. 2. The said nucleotide sequences possess promoter activity. The disclosure further relates to an expression vector comprising the nucleotide sequence, a host cell comprising the said expression vector. The disclosure further relates to method of producing a protein of interest or heterologous protein employing the expression vector. The method provides for simple, economical, and effective means of producing the protein of interest using monosodium glutamate (MSG) as the inducer
