About
Over the past few decades, significant advancements have been made in materials design and application in various fields, including materials, medicine, energy, and the environment. Analyzing molecular interaction and dynamics is crucial for determining the macroscopic properties of these materials. Various analytical methods, including spectroscopy, microscopy, imaging, and diffraction techniques, have been used to analyze materials of interest, such as porous materials, energy materials, and polymers. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) methods have gained attention due to their non-invasive nature and ability to provide atom-specific information. Recently, various organic porous materials, metal-organic frameworks, battery materials, and materials relevant in medicine and the environment have been chemically synthesized, making the application of NMR-based methods inevitable. Pulsed field gradient NMR is a widely used method for characterizing physico-chemical properties of materials. Diffusion analysis and relaxation measurements are also used to determine diffusion coefficients, pore size, and polymer dynamics. The project focuses on using novel experimental methods based on diffusion analysis and relaxation measurements to characterize nanosponges, a class of nanoparticles mostly synthesized carbon-containing polymers.
