About
Researchers are exploring the use of near-infrared (NIR) nanomaterials to harvest solar NIR energy, which is abundant in the solar spectrum. This project aims to synthesize heavy metal-free metal-ternary semiconductor hetero-nanorods with absorption in the NIR region, integrating the properties of metal and ternary semiconductor nanocrystals with long-range atomic periodicity. The goal is to develop a series of nanomaterials with variable compositions that can absorb light over the broad spectrum of UV-NIR, with features such as superior charge carrier mobility and suppressed exciton recombination rate. These nanocrystals will be characterized using various techniques such as TEM, XRD, XPS, and absorption spectrophotometry.
The project aims to utilize these custom-designed nanomaterials for various applications, including photocatalysis and photovoltaics, to assess their wide implementations in various technological applications. The nanocrystals will be characterized using various techniques, including TEM, XRD, XPS, and absorption spectrophotometry. The ultimate goal is to use these nanomaterials for various applications, including photocatalysis and photovoltaics, to demonstrate their potential in various technological applications.
