Project Overview

The study aims to create an air pollution map of non-attainment cities in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar by observing the distribution of particulate matter and selected gases using a network of drones equipped with sensors. The exercise will observe these pollutants at different altitudes, providing opportunities for emission monitoring and studying spatial and temporal trends. The data will help determine the influence of on-ground emission sources and regional transport on air quality at different altitudes within the boundary layer. This information will be valuable in identifying emission zones in real-time, aiding local/regional air quality management and achieving air quality improvement in non-attainment cities by 2024.
