About

The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics is the most successful theory of all time that explains the behavior of fundamental particles and their interaction and has also achieved an unparalleled level of concordance between theoretical predictions and experimental findings, even foretelling the existence of several new particles that have since been discovered. Despite the remarkable success of SM, there are many fundamental questions that it still needs to address, a few such questions for example are the asymmetry between matter and anti-matter, the nature of dark matter, and dark energy, which constitute over 95% of the universe. Considering such unanswered questions, an extension to SM or New Physics (NP) scenarios is currently being explored from both theoretical as well as experimental perspectives. The goal of this proposal is to explore New Physics scenarios through rare charm decay c to s transitions via D to Knunu decay in experimental data as well as with theoretical models which provide a unique opportunity to probe new physics in the up-quark sector.
