About
This project aims to generate quantum squeezed light experimentally to demonstrate quantum sensing, super-resolution imaging, and quantum information science. The main challenge in quantum sensing and information science is the minimum resolvable optical signal readout limited by the standard quantum limit due to quantum back-action noise and photon-shot noise. The project aims to develop an optimized squeezed light source for sub-shot-noise quantum sensing and metrology applications using second harmonics generation (SHG) optical crystal technology in a bow-tie optical cavity. This will accelerate the development of quantum technologies in related fields like electronics control, laser systems, detections, and automations. Quantum squeezed light-based sensors beat classical sensors by reducing noise by squeezing statistical noise in one variable at the expense of the conjugate variable. Real-world applications of squeezed light in quantum sensors will be fully exploited by developing rigid, stable, miniaturized stand-alone portable optical cavities with higher efficiency of SHG quantum light sources.
