Project Overview

This project aims to understand the internal composition of the neutron star, a fundamental problem in nuclear physics and astro-nuclear physics. The neutron star's internal composition is mysterious and unknown, with most people assuming it is composed of an add-mixture of neutron, proton, and electron. Due to the high density, it is possible to see the presence of hyperon and dark matter inside the star. The equation of state, which reflects the internal composition, is mainly reflected through the variation of pressure density with baryonic density. The project will explore the degrees of freedom for hyperon and dark matter in the equation of state. Due to the high density and asymmetry, there is a substantial possibility of dark matter and hyperons inside the star. The hyperon-hyperon interaction is a key factor in determining the equation of state of the hyperon star. However, due to the lack of experimental data, theoretical studies are mainly relied on. The project will focus on understanding hyperon-hyperon interaction from hyper-nuclei data, bulk properties of the hyperon star, multi-messenger astronomy, and the effect of dark matter on the EOS of the neutron star.
