Project Overview

The project entitled "Preparation, structural Characterizations (DFT & PXRD) and synthetic Applications Of Lewis Base Adducts (Transient species) of DABCO as Direct Green Reagents with Good E-Factor." focuses on the preparation of New Lewis Base adducts (LBAs) obtained from organic supernucleophilic base like 1,4-diazabicyclo [2.2.2]octane (DABCO) and employing these transient species as direct reagents for various functional group transformations like sulphonylations, acylations, halogenations and alkylations, etc. of alcohols, phenols, thiophenols, and amines, etc. in water as solvent. Preparation, structural establishment of transient species, and their applications as Green reagents offer a new area of research satisfying 04 different principles of Green Chemistry viz. water as the solvent, devoid of chromatographic purifications, Good E-factor, and recycling of DABCO. Therefore these LBAs as direct reagents find applications in the industrial sector where the synthesis of medicinally important compounds satisfying green principles is the most important criterion.
