About

The proposal focuses on developing new synthetic strategies for creating bioactive organic scaffolds through ortho/meta-C-H activation and enantioselective desymmetrization of C(sp²)-H bonds and enantioselective C(sp³)-H activation reactions. It involves the synthesis of various molecular architectures, such as meta-substituted chalcones, cinnamates, 2-arylethanol, aryl keto phosphonates, alkyl-3-hydroxy-2-methylene-3-aryl-propanoates, and olefinated carbonyl compounds. The proposal also proposes a method for the elegant synthesis of ortho-substituted aryl chalcones and fused pyranoquinoline derivatives via efficient ortho-C-H activation/functionalization strategies. The proposal also proposes an unprecedented strategy for synthesizing pyranoquinoline derivatives via site-selective C5-alkenylation in a diastereoselective fashion. The second part of the proposal focuses on the preparation of optically active compounds via enantioselective desymmetrization of sp² C-H bonds. The proposed compounds will be characterized using NMR, Mass spectrometry, and HPLC techniques, and their biological activities will be examined in collaboration with biologists. The proposal also includes asymmetric activation and enantioselective desymmetrization of sp² C-H bonds and enantioselective C(sp³)-H activation, using different types of chiral ligands for asymmetric C-H activation. The compounds are expected to have a wide range of biological activities, and the activated molecules will be taken further for drug development.
