Project Overview

small organic molecular materials are less explored compared to metal and inorganic materials. Even though various materials were synthesized among them, organic materials are unique and flexible. structural flexibility/tuning is a significant advantage of these materials. Organic molecular nanostructures can be controlled with the help of external parameters like solvents, temperature, pressure, ultrasound and internal parameters, like functional group modifications. However, strategies to fabricate organic materials with controlled sizes and shapes must be explored for desired properties and applications. In this proposal, PI focuses on nanostructure fabrication methodologies, and the PI research group synthesize old molecules with optical properties and then incorporates the new functional groups. Then, develop fabrication routes to get various nanostructures based on the functional groups present on the molecule. The efficiency of these nanostructures will be tested for applications. This proposal will provide the importance of the shape and structure of molecular nanomaterials for optical applications.
