Project Overview

It is proposed to synthesise chiral sugar-based biomimetic NHC-Hybrid ligands from various natural resources. They were exposed to the synthesis of sugar- NHC with earth abundant metals like Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, V, and so on. selective cascade reactions will be used to synthesize therapeutically significant biomolecules, and the reaction conditions will be optimized to achieve high enantio and diastereoselective products. These complexes are used in a variety of sustainable asymmetric organic transformations. These include enantio, diastero selective cascade reactions, such as the synthesis of polysubstituted cyclopentene and cyclopenta[b]carbazole analogues, as well as C-C and C-N bond formation reactions. Furthermore, the developed methodology will be applied to the synthesis of a wide range of therapeutically important fused heterocyclic compounds. The same method can be used to differentiate racemic small molecules from racemic drug molecules. Important discoveries will be patented and published in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, the new catalyst and products will be characterized using a variety of analytical/spectral techniques. (NMR, FT-IR, UV-VIs, and Mass, single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, sEM, TEM, DsC and TGA analysis).
