Project Overview
Earthquakes rank among the most destructive natural hazards, and their occurrence can have severe socio-economic consequences at the regional level. In the purposed study, initially a new semi active and hybrid control algorithm will be developed using neural network for fully and partially observed building frames. Then, to assess efficiency of the developed control algorithms, a seismic fragility assessment of buildings located in surat city have been purposed to carried out by installing MR dampers. To develop the dataset of building models for surat city, an extensive field survey will be conducted using the stratified random sample survey technique. The footprint of all buildings in the study area will be obtained through the use of ArcGIs Pro software. Based on the inventory report, the models can be categorized into groups with similar characteristics. The main data is categorized based on the unique structural characteristics and basic information, which can be useful to understand the structure response and predict the vulnerability. This approach will ensure a comprehensive and accurate dataset of building models. The outcomes of the project will give a comprehensive idea of the seismic vulnerability of the surat city and the efficiency of the suggested retrofitting measures.
